Gibraltar Point: bedroom
White strings installed by tracing my gaze at objects in a temporary bedroom space
2006

A part of the series of work on space, body and flow of time. In this series, temporary courses of sensory experiences, such as movements of my body and traces of my gaze are converted into tangible three-dimensional drawings of strings. In this temporary installation in a bedroom in which I stay during an artist residency, many of the elements in the room are connected by an array of strings; the objects in the room, little marks on the wall, light fixtures, etc. They are what I am habitually staring at without particular intention and function for me as an important part of my process to get myself familiar with the new environment.
