City of Wishes: ongoing
The viewers are invited to write their wishes on wooden plaques and hang them up on the web of red strings installed in the space. While participating, they can also read anonymous but personal wishes of others, which normally belong to private realm. The installations were created with the collection of wishes of people - often what they hope for their cities - from various places: Tokyo, Japan; Calgary, Canada; Berlin, Germany; Winterthur, Switzerland. Through the lens of wish, on-going project City of Wishes addresses desires and values of individuals, which can reveal the culture and shared beliefs.
